Know Our Official Channels: A Public Notice from LSSTF

Dear Stakeholders, Partners, and Members of the Public, Your safety online matters to us as much as your safety offline. As part of our commitment to transparency and public trust, we want you to know how to recognize a genuine Lagos State Government website, and how to avoid imitation or fraudulent sites designed to deceive the public.

Listed below are the only authentic URLs, contact details, and social media handles through which you can access verified updates, reports, donation information, and official communications from LSSTF. If a URL, phone number, email address, or social media handle claiming to represent LSSTF does not appear on this page, it is most likely an impersonator. Please, report it immediately.

How you know it’s official:

Scammers can create convincing fake domains that closely resemble our official URLs — adding hyphens, swapping endings, or using near-miss spellings. Stay ahead of these tactics using the guide below:

  • The web address must end exactly with .lagosstate.gov.ng or .lg.gov.ng, with nothing added after (there must be no extra words, hyphens, or alternate endings). Always check the full domain, not just part of it, scammers often create sub-domains that mimic the domain names of legitimate government agencies, for example, take a look at the domains listed below.

    lsstf.lg.gov.ng.lss-tf.ng
    ,
    lsstf.lg.gov.ng.secure-donate.com,
    lsstf.lg.gov.ng.helplsstf.ng,
    lsstf.lagosstate.gov.ng.secure-verify.com,
    lsstf.lagosstate.gov.ng.contact-lsstf.ng

At first glance, these domains may look legitimate. But, they are all examples of domains designed to trick the public. Even though they contain the words “lsstf” or “lagosstate” in them, it does not make them legitimate or valid. Official Lagos State Government websites, including agencies and parastatals such as LSSTF, use web addresses ending in .lg.gov.ng. This domain suffix is reserved exclusively for verified Lagos State Government entities.
  • Do not rely on the padlock icon or “https://” alone as proof of authenticity. Most browsers today only flag insecure sites with a warning; a secure-looking address bar is not confirmation you’re on our real site. Encryption (https) only means the connection is private, it says nothing about who owns the site. A scammer can obtain a valid security certificate for a fake domain.
  • The site should display official institutional branding and clear ownership information in the footer. Please, note that scammers can copy this too, so it should never be your only check.
  • Make sure the contact details on the site are verifiable. Official pages list traceable phone numbers, office addresses, and email addresses ending in the same .lg.gov.ng domain, never generic email services like Gmail or Yahoo for official correspondence.
  • No requests for unusual payments. LSSTF and other Lagos State agencies will never ask you to make payments through unofficial channels, personal accounts, or unverified links in exchange for services.

Knowing these simple checks turns clever scams into transparent attempts, keeping your information, donations, and trust safely with the real LSSTF.

Important Reminder: If you receive a link via WhatsApp, SMS, email, or social media claiming to be from LSSTF, do not click it. Instead, manually type one of our official domains into your browser, and navigate from there.

We will never ask for sensitive information or payments through unofficial channels. All donations and official transactions are processed strictly through our verified government websites. Your security and trust remain paramount to us. By sticking to these official platforms, you help us maintain a safe and transparent environment as we continue strengthening security across Lagos State.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Stay Safe. Stay Informed.
