About

The Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), widely recognized as Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), is the lead environmental enforcement agency under the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources. Headed by Corps Marshal Major Olaniyi Olatunbosun Cole (Rtd), the agency’s primary mandate is to maintain public order, cleanliness, and safety across Lagos State. Its operations align with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda, focusing heavily on transforming Lagos into a clean, modern, and highly sustainable megacity.

To achieve this goal, LAGESC enforces environmental laws by actively arresting street traders, stopping illegal refuse dumping, and penalizing individuals who bypass pedestrian bridges to cross expressways. The agency also demolishes illegal shanties blocking public walkways, prosecutes open urination, and ensures that residential properties actively use licensed Private Sector Participation (PSP) waste operators. Through these strict enforcement measures and routine community monitoring, the agency works to eliminate public health hazards and maintain smooth traffic flow across the state.
