About

The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, commonly known as the Lagos State Taskforce, is a law enforcement agency dedicated to maintaining public order, safety, and environmental sanitation across Lagos State. Led by Chairman CSP Adetayo Akerele, the agency operates under the governor’s THEMES Plus Agenda to aggressively target criminal elements and urban decay. Its primary responsibilities include dislodging illegal shanties, arresting highway robbers and extortionist hoodlums, and clearing traffic obstructions caused by roadside markets or banned commercial motorcycles (okadas).

Operating from its headquarters at the Lagos Safety Arena Complex in Bolade, Oshodi, the Taskforce has recently executed several high-profile enforcement actions across the metropolis. These operations include raiding flashpoints along the Lekki-Epe Expressway to eliminate traffic robbery syndicates, cracking down on organized street begging in Ikoyi and Victoria Island, and arresting infrastructure vandals. Citizens can report environmental infractions, criminal hideouts, or verify enforcement actions directly by contacting the agency’s official hotlines at 09137555111 or 09138555111.
